Bill Wyland : Bill Wyland

Always a hard working and enterprising man, Bill Wyland worked at the advantages and many opportunities presented to him. He was born and raised in Madison Heights, Michigan. When he turned 18, he joined the Air Force and started as a fireman and became a professional skier and was in charge of the ski patrol for Europe. After the military, he was in charge of the Ski patrol at Echo Summit Ski Resort in South Lake, Tahoe. There he started his first real-estate marketing company, Westen Marketing, which was a marketing company that specialized in marketing of Time Share resorts in Lake Tahoe. For the next several years, his business expanded to several Time Share resorts thoughout the United States, including Hawaii. Bill ended up in Hawaii on his honeymoon and founded the first Wyland Art gallery in 1988 in Haleiwa, Hawaii, located on the beautiful North Shore on the island of Oahu. This later expanded to all four major islands and quickly became the biggest Fine Art Gallery chain in all of Hawaii and one of the biggest in all the US. Today, there are over 40 family owned Wyland galleries and distributorships throughout the United States.

A travel enthusiast, Bill Wyland has visited over 180 countries. He says "I like to experience different cultures in person". In the last two years Bill has taken up playing Polo, stating, "This is interesting because as of a year ago I have not ridden a horse except the occasional trail ride". He enjoys taking activities to the extreme. He enjoys jet skiing big waves on the north shore and riding in polo games. Additionally, he enjoys diving, tennis, golf, surfing and hiking. Bill Wyland and others in his close family have achieved success and happiness in the beautiful island state we live in. Bill has 2 Children. His son Brian, 19, is a sponsored skate boarder in Hawaii sponsored by numerous companies such as Billabong and DC Shoe Company, USA. His daughter Stephanie, 17, enjoys reading and writing. She has entered numerous contests for her excellent story writing. They do extensive traveling together and have visited many countries throughout the world.
